Computer rooms behind the Valley’s businesses
Colocation space in Salinas rents cabinets to regional companies, and many office buildings, grower headquarters, processing plants and clinics keep their own server closet or network room. Whether you manage a full white space or a single locked room with two racks, the job is the same: keep dust, debris and stray traffic away from equipment that has to stay up. Salinas Commercial Cleaning builds the cleaning plan around the operator’s written procedure, so the room is cared for without anyone touching what it exists to protect.
Badges, escorts and sign-in sheets
Access comes first. Before the first visit we learn who signs the crew in, which doors their badges or keys open, where an escort is required and which cages are off limits. Crews log in and out the way your site asks, and they leave every door, cage and cabinet as they found it. Every crew member sent to your site is background-checked first. If your team changes a rule, such as a new escort policy during an audit, the crew follows the new version from the next visit on.
Inside the white space
On the raised floor, crews work the surface only. Solid tiles are damp wiped with the cleaning solution your procedure approves, perforated tiles are vacuumed so loose particles are pulled out instead of pushed into the airflow, and the aisles between rows are cleared of packaging scraps and labels. Cabinet doors, side panels and blanking-panel faces are dusted from the outside. Nothing is sprayed near equipment, and cables, patch panels and anything inside a rack stay untouched. Vacuums and cloths that serve the computer room stay in that room, so dirt from the dock never rides in on a tool.
Higher surfaces get a pass too, within reach and within the rules. Door frames, light lenses, return-air grilles on the walls and the tops of fire-suppression cabinets are dusted where your procedure allows, and fingerprints come off the glass of the viewing window and the cage doors. Waste bins in the room are emptied on every visit so packaging never sits beside the cold aisle overnight.
Where the dust comes in
Most of the dust in a computer room arrives through the door. New hardware is unboxed in staging rooms that fill with cardboard, foam and plastic wrap, so those rooms get the heaviest attention: packaging broken down and hauled out, counters wiped and the floor swept and mopped after every delivery day. Entry vestibules and their mats get attention every visit, and sticky mats are changed from your stock on the schedule you set. Loading docks and the corridor that leads to the white space are swept, with grit from the parking lot kept out of the path equipment travels.
The operations desk and the rest of the building
The people who watch the systems need clean rooms too. In the operations center, desks are wiped around keyboards and monitors without moving them, chairs are cleaned and trash is emptied. Break rooms, locker rooms and restrooms are covered fixture by fixture, and conference rooms are reset for the next vendor meeting. When the server room is part of an office, the whole suite can share one schedule through our office cleaning service, and a multi-tenant property can fold it into business park cleaning.
Floors outside the racks
Staging rooms, docks and support corridors often have sealed concrete, which crews machine scrub through our concrete floor cleaning service on the calendar you pick. Vinyl tile in offices and break areas can be stripped and refinished, and carpeted operations rooms get extraction on a set rotation, all booked through floor care. Machine work stays outside the white space unless your procedure calls for it.
Battery and electrical rooms, generator corridors and the mechanical spaces that feed the cooling plant can join the route as well. Crews sweep and mop the open floor, wipe doors and handles and empty bins, and they stay clear of panels, batteries and equipment pads. Your team marks which of these rooms to include during the walkthrough, and the plan lists each one with its own frequency.
Working around change windows
Cleaning fits around your maintenance calendar. Visits can land overnight, on weekends or in the quiet hours after a change window closes, and a deep clean after a hardware install or a cabinet move can be booked as a one-time visit. Your facilities or operations lead walks the site with us on a free walkthrough, and that visit becomes a written quote listing every room with its visit frequency. Salinas Commercial Cleaning is bonded, insured and covered for workers’ comp, and a certificate of insurance reaches your vendor manager before the first shift. Supervisors return on quality inspections to check finished rooms against your procedure.
A few useful answers
Common questions.
Will your crew touch our servers or cabling?
No. Crews clean floors, cabinet exteriors and the rooms around the racks. Equipment, cables, patch panels and anything inside a cabinet stay exactly as your team leaves them.
How do you work with our access and escort rules?
We learn them before the first visit and follow them on every visit: sign-in, badge or key use, escort requirements and cages that stay closed. Background checks are complete before anyone is assigned to your site.
Can the server room in our office be added to regular cleaning?
Yes. A single computer room can join your office schedule, with its own steps for the raised floor or tile, the rack exteriors and the entry.
When can a computer room be cleaned?
Overnight, on weekends or after a change window, whichever your operations team prefers. One-time visits after an install or a move can be added at any time.
Will our vendor manager get a certificate of insurance?
Yes. It goes to whoever manages your vendor files before the start date, and again whenever a renewal comes due.
