From neighborhood care homes to full campuses

Shared rooms are where the day happens in a senior community: residents eat, play cards, watch a movie and meet their families there, whether the building is a small residential care home or an assisted living campus with long corridors off a central lobby.

Whatever the size, the shared rooms are where the day happens. Residents eat, play cards, watch a movie and meet their families there, and visiting relatives judge the whole community by how those rooms look. Our crews keep them bright and orderly without getting in the way of anyone’s routine.

The lobby, front desk and visitor restroom

Family members walk in through the lobby, sign in at the desk and often stop at the restroom closest to the door. Those are the first places on every visit: fingerprints lifted from the entry glass and push plates, the sign-in counter and pens wiped, lounge chairs and side tables dusted, and the visitor restroom cleaned and restocked.

Handrails along the entry and the elevator call buttons are wiped on each visit, and the entry mat is vacuumed or swapped, which keeps parking-lot grit from reaching the lounge carpet.

Dining rooms between meal services

A dining room serves three meals a day and often snacks in between, so its cleaning has to fit the gaps. After the service you choose, tables are cleared of crumbs and wiped, chair seats, arms and legs are cleaned, and the floor beneath each table is swept and mopped well before residents line up for the next meal.

Beverage stations, condiment counters and serving-line fronts are wiped down, and the private dining room used for birthdays and family meals gets a reset after each booking. Kitchen floors and the dish area can join the same plan if the community wants one crew covering both sides of the swinging door.

Corridors, activity rooms and the library

From breakfast to lights-out, walkers, wheelchairs and carts roll down the long hallways. Crews wipe each handrail along its full length, dust baseboards and door frames, and vacuum carpet runners, spot-treating drips and tracked-in soil. Hallway seating nooks and windowsills are part of the same pass.

Activity rooms see paint, puzzles, bingo and exercise classes in one week. Tables and craft counters are cleaned, chairs straightened, the piano and bookshelves dusted, and the floor cleaned so the room is ready for whatever is on tomorrow’s calendar. The chapel, library, salon and theater room are cleaned on the rotation you set.

Floors with residents walking on them

Floor work in a senior community is done in sections. Crews wet-mop a corridor in halves, put signs out at both ends and keep a dry lane open, so residents never have to cross a wet surface to reach the dining room. Cords stay tucked against the wall and equipment is parked out of the walkway.

Deeper work goes on its own calendar through our floor care service: carpet extraction in hallways and lounges, plus a fresh strip-and-wax finish on resilient tile wherever the dining room or craft room has it. Those jobs are booked for the quietest hours, with the area closed off until it is dry.

Staff rooms, offices and common restrooms

Caregivers and kitchen staff need a break room that is actually clean. Counters, sinks, microwave and refrigerator handles are wiped, tables cleaned and trash taken out. Locker rooms and staff restrooms get the same fixture-by-fixture care as the public ones.

Administrative offices, the marketing office where families tour, and the conference room are dusted, emptied and vacuumed, with papers on desks left exactly as staff left them. Common restrooms throughout the building are cleaned and stocked, and periodic deep work on them is available through our restroom deep cleaning service.

Fitting the crew into the residents’ day

Crews work around meals, activities and visiting hours rather than through them. Dining rooms are cleaned after service, hallways before breakfast or after the evening program, and noisy machine work is saved for times the director picks. A day porter can cover the lobby, restrooms and dining room through the busiest part of the day.

Background checks clear every cleaner assigned to your building, and supervisors walk the community on quality inspections against the plan. Your executive director or maintenance lead gets a free walkthrough first, and afterward you receive a written quote that lists each room and when it is cleaned.

A few useful answers

Common questions.

Which parts of a senior living community does your crew clean?

Lobbies, dining rooms, corridors, activity and chapel rooms, common restrooms, staff break rooms and administrative offices, each on the schedule you choose.

How is dining room cleaning timed around meals?

Crews come in after whichever meal services you choose and turn the tables, chairs and floor around for the next seating. A plan can cover lunch and dinner, with a full reset after the last meal of the day.

How do you handle wet floors while residents are walking?

Floors are mopped half at a time, with warning signs posted at each end and a dry path left open. Deeper floor work is done at the quietest hours with the area closed until it dries.

Can we add cleaning before an open house or a family event?

Yes. Add a visit ahead of a tour day, a holiday party or a family celebration in the private dining room.

Is the person cleaning our building background-checked?

Yes. No one joins a crew at your community without first clearing a background check.
